About the OGE PTA: our mission and what we do

It is our OGE PTA mission to advocate on behalf of our students, and to make their experience and our teachers’ jobs more enjoyable, enriching, and rewarding. We also encourage a sense of community among our Oak Grove families.

Faculty Support:

The PTA supports teachers and staff throughout the year including Teacher & Staff Appreciation week, the Holiday Luncheon, Welcome Back Breakfast, and Wonderful Wednesdays.

Social & Cultural Event:

The PTA also hosts multiple Social and Cultural Events including Popsicles on the Playground, the Ice Cream Social, Fall Festival, Field Day and Field Trip, Book Fairs, the Family dance, Fun Run, Walking Wednesday and much more. We also assists the school in luncheon events such as Grandparents day and Thanksgivings.

Extra Academic Projects:

The PTA also initiates and coordinates ongoing academic projects such as Math Superstars, which rewards exceptional math work, and Reflections, an art program based on an annual theme where students can earn national recognition.

Communications:

Oak Tree is our OGE PTA weekly newsletter featuring upcoming events, important updates, and reminders about all things OGE. We also spotlight our community partners, promoting their offerings, which range from after-school activities to various local services.

Follow us on Facebook page and instagram and join the OGE Parents Facebook Group if you're an OGE Parents.

Resources:

Be sure to take advantage of the features on this site. Use the calendar to stay updated with the latest schedules and subscribe to sync OGE events (PTA, Foundation, school, and district) with your own calendar. The Directory is your go-to resource for connecting with other parents and students, making it easy to find contact information, organize playdates, or set up study groups with just a few clicks!

Back to School Support:

The OGE PTA also assists with registration and back-to-school needs, including purchasing required annual supplies and agendas.

PTA Mission & Values

The overall purpose of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

We achieve this through-

Collaboration: We work in partnership with a wide array of individuals and organizations to accomplish our agreed-upon goals.

Commitment: We are dedicated to promoting children’s health, well-being, and educational success through strong parent, family, and community involvement.

Accountability: We acknowledge our obligations. We deliver on our promises.

Respect: We value our colleagues and ourselves. We expect the same high quality of effort and thought from ourselves as we do from others.

Inclusivity: We invite the stranger and welcome the newcomer. We value and seek input from as wide a spectrum of viewpoints and experiences as possible.

Integrity: We act consistently with our beliefs. When we make mistakes, we acknowledge them and seek to make amends.
