Will your class earn the GOLDEN SHOE?!

Get Ready! Walking Wednesday starts this week! Are you ready to earn prizes, including the coveted "Golden Shoe" award? 

Walking Wednesdays are an opportunity for everyone (grown-ups and students alike!) to get some physical activity by walking to school in the morning. Students earn prizes! And, the class with the most walkers wins that week's "Golden Shoe" award! If it's too far to walk from home, you can park next to the Oak Grove United Methodist Church and walk from there. 

We still need weekly volunteers and prizes donations, CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP!  

Grandparent's Day is September 12
RSVP for a meal by September 8!
  • Invite your students' grandparents for lunch at OGE September 12th! Check your child's Grandparents Luncheon time HERE. 
  • Meals are $4 per person. No cash payments will be accepted at the door. Order a meal ticket by Sept. 8 HERE.
  • Meal choices are hamburger, veggie burger, or roasted chicken with BBQ sauce.
  • Volunteers needed for two 1-hour shifts (2 for check-in and 3 servers per shift). Sign up HERE.


The PTA Reflections Art Competition Starts Now!

The theme is “Accepting Imperfection” 

The PSA Reflections art program is a great opportunity for any OEG student\ to submit original artwork. Choose from 6 different categories:

Film production

Music composition

Visual arts

Dance choreography

Literature

Photography

In early Fall, our Reflections Coordinator handles communication with the National PTA for rules and contest info. They are in charge of making sure all artwork is submitted properly, finds persons to judge the artwork and hosts a show/celebration. Don't miss out on this heartwarming volunteer opportunity! There are two sign-ups - one for fall and one for spring.  Reservations are $25 a day, and it's recommended to reserve for 2 days when possible to allow time for the base coat to dry.  Please be sure to submit payment after reserving your spot and thanks for supporting OGE's The Beat and outdoor learning projects!

Sign Up for Ultimate Frisbee on Saturdays

Join us on Saturdays from 11-12:30 at Lakeside High School! Long time coach, Fred Perivier, and the State Champion Lakeside Highschool Team will be helping to teach the next generation. Boys and girls from 2nd to 5th grade are invited. Don't forget your water bottle and sneakers!
